About me:
Michi Zaya (any pronoun) is a Mongolian storyteller of all trades, based in Brooklyn. Michi’s work can be seen on stage as a performer, projections designer, and director. Michi has worked with Asian American & immigrant stories on stage in New York and Boston. Thematic elements in their body of work have been language, grief, Queerness, and community. Their black cat is her son and the center of their universe.

Directing - A RARE BIRD (Breaking the Binary Theatre, Playwrights Horizons)**, wAve (Brooklyn College, The Public Theater)*, I SHOULD BE OBLITERATED (Theatre Row, DUAF), CALICO (Under St Marks), ANCIENT HISTORY (The Tank), and THE BOY WHO BURNT HIS VILLAGE DOWN, MA AME Capstone Award Winning media project based on interviews with the tenants and workers of Manhattan Chinatown.
